The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those who range themselves in rows; 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21
