(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Do they have another god besides God? God is too exalted to be considered equal to the idols. 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
