In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
