Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
