The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the declining star, 1 your companion is not in error nor has he gone astray. 2 And he speaketh not of his own desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 Of might, he (Gabriel) stood firm 6 the strong one who appeared on the uppermost horizon. 7 Then he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] approached and came closer, 8 And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 The heart [of the Prophet] did not misconstrue what he saw. 11 What, will you dispute with him about what he sees! 12 And indeed, he saw him a second time 13 by the lote-tree of the farthest limit, 14 close to the Garden of Refuge. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 and he certainly saw some of the greatest Signs of His Lord. 18 Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 Do sons belong to you and daughters to God? 21 That were indeed an unjust division. 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25
