Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
