HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
