Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
