Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
