Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
