So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
