The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon. 1 And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. 2 They have cried lies, and followed their caprices; but every matter is settled. 3 And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them. 4 Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 running in confusion towards the Summoning Voice; [and] those who [now] deny the truth will exclaim, "Calamitous is this Day!" 8 ۞ The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled. 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 So We opened the gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained. 12 We bore him on an [ark] which, made of planks and nails, 13 and it floated under Our eyes: a recompense for him who had been rejected with ingratitude. 14 We have left it as a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? 18 We sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune, 19 which hurled people around like uprooted trunks of palm-trees. 20 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 21 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished! 22
