The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Quran. 2 Created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
