The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
