The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
