The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
