The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The All-merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
