The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
