The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
