The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
