The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
