The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
