The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
