The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
