The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
