The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
