The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
