He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 you attend to him, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and fearfully, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 olives, dates, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
