The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
