The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And couches raised up. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
