The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
