A multitude from the ancients. 39 and many from the later generations. 40 And those of the left hand, how wretched are those of the left hand! 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please: 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 and had persisted in the Great Sin. 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Say, "Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones 49 Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day." 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 56 We created you. Will ye then admit the truth? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not. 61 You have known the first creation, then why do you not reflect? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 'We are debt-loaded; 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Behold! the water which ye drink: 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? 70 See ye the Fire which ye kindle? 71 Have you raised its tree, or We have raised it? 72 It is We who have made it a means to remind [you of Us,] and a comfort for all who are lost and hungry in the wilderness [of their lives]. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
