Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - 1 Who hath created death and life that He might prove you, as to which of you is excellent in work. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiver. 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are thrown into hell, they will hear its roaring while it boils. 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire! 11 [As against this,] behold, for those who stand in awe of God although He is beyond the reach of their perception, there is forgiveness in store and a great reward. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
