He it is who has made the earth easy to live upon: go about, then, in all its regions, and partake the sustenance which He provides: but [always bear in mind that] unto Him you shall be resurrected. 15 Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, then behold it shakes (as in an earthquake)? 16 Do you feel secure that the One in the heavens will not strike you with a sandstorm? You will soon know, with the coming of the torment, how serious Our warning was. 17 And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach. 18 And did they not see the birds above them, spreading and closing their wings? None except the Most Gracious holds them up; indeed He sees all things. 19 Who is he that can be an army unto you and succour you, beside the Compassionate! The infidels are but in delusion. 20 Or who is it that will give you sustenance if He should withhold His sustenance? Nay! they persist in disdain and aversion. 21 Can one who walks with his head hanging down be better guided that one who walks with his head upright? 22 Say: "It is He who raised you and gave you ears and eyes and hearts. How little are the thanks you offer!" 23 Say: "It is He who dispersed you all over the earth, and to Him you will be gathered." 24 They ask, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 25 Say: "As to the knowledge of the time, it is with Allah alone: I am (sent) only to warn plainly in public." 26 When they will see it near at hand, the faces of all those who had denied it will be distraught, and then they will be told: “This is the doom which you used to ask for.” 27 Say thou: bethink ye if Allah destroy me and those with me; or have mercy on us, who will protect the infidels from a torment afflictive? 28 Say, "He is the Most Gracious: we believe in Him and we put our trust in Him. You will soon come to know who is in evident error." 29 Say: 'What think you? If in the morning your water should have vanished into the earth, then who would bring you running water?' 30
