Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
