Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
