Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
