Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
