Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a high Garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
