Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. 19
