Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
