Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
