In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O thou enwrapped in thy robes, 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 half of it, or reduce it a little; 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Behold, We shall bestow upon thee a weighty message 5 Indeed, the first part of night is heavier in tread, and more upright in speech. 6 During the day, you are preoccupied with many activities. 7 And remember the Name of thy Lord, and devote thyself unto Him very devoutly. 8 He is the Lord of the east and the west, there is no deity but Him, so take Him as your Guardian. 9 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. 10 Leave the prosperous disbelievers to Me and give them respite for a little while; 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 And a food that choketh and a torment afflictive. 13 (They will come across all this) on the Day when the earth and the mountains shall tremble violently and the mountains shall crumble into heaps of scattered sand. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 But the Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a grievous punishment. 16 How, then, if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, will you protect yourselves on that Day which shall turn the hair of children grey, 17 Whereon the heaven will be cleft asunder? His Promise is certainly to be accomplished. 18 Verily this is an admonition; let him therefore, who will, choose a way unto his Lord. 19
