The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 and purify your clothing, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he looked, 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 We have not appointed the guards of hell, except angels; and did not keep this number except to test the disbelievers – in order that the People given the Book(s) may be convinced, and to increase the faith of the believers – and so that the People given the Book(s) and the Muslims may not have any doubt – and so that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers, may say, “What does Allah mean by this amazing example?” This is how Allah sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills; and no one knows the armies of Allah except Him; and this is not but an advice to man. 31
