The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And pollution shun. 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
