The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise, and warn! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And pollution shun. 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 and children living in his presence, 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 and who still desires more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Lo! He reflected, and determined -- 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
