Nay, and by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were startled donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
