Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 About the criminals, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 "Nor used to feed the needy." 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
