The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount; 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 in an exposed parchment 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And the swollen sea 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 none can avert that. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
