Nay! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to humans, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
